Certain Life Events Can Qualify You for Special Enrollment
Have you lost your job—or had a baby this year? These are some of the special circumstances that might qualify you for Special Enrollment. Other life events that qualify you are getting married or you have lost coverage due to moving. You can also enroll if you were approved for unemployment compensation and have lost your job-based health insurance. If eligible, you might qualify for coverage even if you didn’t in the past.
How Much Will it Cost?
The cost of your major medical health insurance plan will depend on your income. There are easy tools to help you figure how you will save. You may qualify for a premium tax credit that lowers your monthly insurance bill, and for extra savings on out-of-pocket costs like deductibles and copayments.
These plans are offered by private insurance plans. There is a broad range of prices and features. All other plans (Non-ACA Major Medical Plans) are based on age and zip code. Some products may have additional underwriting questions that may also determine product cost.
